Best soft drinks retailer of the year Day-Today Stenhousemuir The Stenhousemuir store won the award as it puts community at the centre of every decision it makes, from a weekly proportion of profits being put aside for food parcels to free meals for the homeless. Throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, the store has supported local vulnerable families and frontline workers. The store’s donations to the local hospital include 1,000 bottles of hand sanitiser and hospital staff showed their appreciation by donating a defibrillator to the store. KeyStoreMore Forres Drive The judges were impressed by the wall of fridges guiding customers to the licensed offer while its mix of pro-active trend spotting and responding to customer requests in beer, wine and spirits has resulted in a wide and varied range. Knowledgeable staff members are always happy to help a customer find something they will like and a responsible attitude to alcohol sales is at the heart of the ongoing training programme for staff. Day-Today Doonfoot, Barassie and Coylton Despite the challenges of opening a store during the Covid-19 pandemic, the team behind Day-Today Doonfoot and Barassie impressed the judges with their new Coylton store which opened just four weeks into lockdown. The new store offers everything customers have come to expect from the team, such as effective promotions, seasonal celebrations, clever use of social media and well-trained, knowledgeable staff. Owners Ross MacPherson and Mandi Duncan were also named Entrepreneur of the Year in recognition of the opening of their third store during the pandemic.
